Deividas’s heavily detailed graphite art is given shape by impaired physical vision, it is dreamlike yet draws on combined senses and not sight alone.
He is fascinated with blurring male and female forms with eerie characters or scenes emerging from dark smudged breathing backgrounds.
Heavy to light pencil strokes convey a dance between ugliness and beauty, the grotesque yet bizarre. Eliciting an invitation for a microscopic inspection. Imagery varying from intimate closeups to portraiture of unrecognisable erotogenic beings, overlaying organic meshing with inanimate and surrealism; dominating his works at random.

About the Artist

Deividas works and lives in Dublin. He was born in Lithuania in 1984 with a rare eye condition - nystagmus, also known as “dancing eye syndrome,” which causes eyes to oscillate 24/7, 365. This, combined with astigmatism and strabismus, heavily affects how he sees and interacts with the world, leading to many unique and sometimes extremely challenging experiences.

Nonetheless Deividas finds inspiration in life to create.

To inspire peace and a better world for all is his dream.
